Artistic Director, Bull Ant
Katie formed her company Bull Ant Productions in 2015 to produce and perform Charlotte Josephine's one-woman show Bitch Boxer.
The sold-out NSW Premiere ran at the Old 505 Theatre, before a return season at the KXT Theatre for Sydney Fringe Festival 2015.
Pre production has began on the web series Dysfunctional Gardening with writer Candice Storey and director Kate Halpin for Bull Ant.
Katie works as an independent screen producer
Her first short film, Sweet Tooth, with Writer/Director Shannon Ashlyn, has gone on to win Best Film at CAPA International Association of Film & Television Schools, the Nicholas Baudin Award for Best Short Film at Festival Des Antipodes Saint- Tropez, and an APDG Award for Production Designer Emma Bourke. Sweet Tooth had its Sydney Premiere at the 29th International Short Film Festival Flickerfest 2020.
This River, with Writer/Director Naomi Fryer, shot in the Northern Rivers of NSW in April 2019, will be distributed by AFTRS, 2020.
Katie has worked as a producer for Buffet Digital on The Art Of Tasting for QT Hotels and Perrier-Jouet, and 13&Co for musician Nathan Cavaleri music video 29 Gold Stars.
Katie recently shot her second music video MONSKA with director/designer Isabella Andronos for Nox House Films.
Post production is also underway on CNUT, a short stop-motion film ARACOURT
Katie’s work demonstrates an interest in diversity across projects and genres.
Katie is passionate about working with female writers/directors and is an advocate for creating opportunities for females within the film industry.
Katie was the Company Manager for Pop-up Globe Sydney 2018.
She joined Outhouse Theatre Company in 2019 as Production Associate for productions Gloria, Trevor and John.
John won Best Independent Production 2019.
As an actor, Katie formed half the acting duo for Apriori's production of Steven Berkoff's Decadence, winning the Sydney Fringe Award in 2013 and a nomination for Best Theatre at the Adelaide Fringe 2014.
She has featured on Australian TV screens in many TVC campaigns, acted with numerous independent theatre companies and played roles in feature films, television shows and short films.
Katie developed a passion for theatre at an early age, attending theatre, musicals, opera - being captivated by the world of make-believe in her hometown Adelaide.
Katie was a baroque musician learning the oboe, recorders and voice, studying at Brighton Secondary School on a special music scholarship. Touring with the school choir to England, Scotland and Germany, she continued her studies and travel in Europe for 12 months, studying recorder with Daniel Bruggen in Holland.
Throughout secondary school, she was a single studies student with Lesley Lewis at the Adelaide Conservatorium.
Whilst at Uni, Katie sang with the acclaimed Adelaide Chamber Singers for two years as a first soprano and had a term's scholarship to the musical theatre stream at Guildford School of Acting, UK.
Katie is a graduate of the Flinders University Drama Centre, SA. Bachelor of Arts (Honours, Drama)
