Bull Ant Productions was formed in Sydney in 2015 by artistic director Katherine Shearer in order to produce the NSW Premiere of BITCH BOXER by UK playwright Charlotte Josephine. Katherine engaged an artistic team to work with Bull Ant Productions for two seasons of BITCH BOXER, firstly at the old 505 Theatre in May 2015 and then at the newly claimed theatre space at Kings Cross Hotel for the Fringe Festival 2015 in September, before Bakehouse Theatre took over and established the brilliant KX Theatre.
Katherine as a Producer has teamed up with director/writer Shannon Ashlyn, on her Masters of Directing Film at the Australian Film Television and Radio School, SWEET TOOTH. The film has gone on to win CAPA Best Film for CILCECT International Association of Film and Television Schools, and the Nicholas Baudin Award for Best Short Film at Festival Des Antipodes Saint-Tropez.
As production manager, Katherine worked on Hattie Archibald's AFTRS Masters Directing Project GUT FEELING
Katherine was the Company Manager for Pop-up Globe International Sydney 2018 Season.
2019 saw Katherine producing AFTRS Masters short film THIS RIVER, shot in the Northern Rivers with writer/director Naomi Fryer. She is the current production manager of Outhouse Theatre Company.
